Dr. Carla Michelle Turner-Brown

Dr. Carla Michelle Brown is a spirited luminary whose faith in Christ anchors every part of her life.  Raised in church, she is most comfortable when encouraging and inspiring others to reach their fullest potential in Him!  Dr. Brown’s passion for ministry has led her to serve in numerous capacities throughout her life that include, but are not limited to:  Choir and Praise Team Member, Pianist, Music Ministry Leader, Songwriter, Drama Ministry Member, Sunday School Teacher, VBS Co-Coordinator, Church Secretary, Special Events Coordinator, Christian Education Curriculum Writer, Children’s Church Director and the youngest Church Council Member. 

Her career path has beautifully paralleled her Christian convictions.  Dr. Brown uses her gifts and talents in speaking, writing and consulting to encourage others to achieve at their highest level.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (University of Phoenix), Master of Management in Human Resource Management (University of Phoenix) and Doctor of Education with a focus in Reading and Literacy (Capella University).   Her love for Latino culture and language has compelled her current pursuit of an Associate Degree in Spanish from Arapahoe Community College.

As the owner of aspirExcel Enterprises, she is also a blogger and social media personality.  With over 30 years of public speaking experience, Dr. Brown remains a sought-out keynote and trainer for businesses, nonprofits and churches.  She provides professional development in the education and nursing industries and coaches private clients in writing and public speaking.  She has published several articles featured in magazines within and beyond the United States and authored a celebrated book and interactive journal. 

Dr. Brown also has experience as a licensed educator, having taught English Language Arts for elementary, middle and high school students.  She is currently the Executive Director for a nursing organization, online teacher for PSAT Academy and an adjunct faculty member at Denver Seminary where she teaches Research & Writing I and II for the Urban Initiative program.  She gives back to the community as an associate member of the Colorado Council of Black Nurses and a lifetime member of Friends of Nursing Denver, where she serves on the scholarship committee.

She’s been married to her college sweetheart, Rev. Michael F. Brown, Sr. for over twenty years and is the proud mom of four sons, Michael, II, Christopher, Isaiah and Jonathan.  Dr. Brown’s hobbies include cooking, exploring new vegan delights, traveling, reading and spending time with family.
